Blogs are/were craze but are they good mediums to send traffic to your website?

I don’t fully agree with the idea that blogs are a great way to increase your traffic, ad revenues of website or sales directly.

Blogs are tools that should be used to create brand awareness, visibility and reach. If you plan to increase your ad- revenue or sales then blogs are not the best way to do that.

I am not asking you to ignore the blogosphere but do not trust the blogs to give you the golden goose. Blogs should be an integral part of a whole hearted effort to create a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere for your product and services. Blogs should always be complemented with Press release, image optimization (marketing), article submission, social media presence.

Social Media + Blogs = Traffic.

When you open up a blog, create a flickr (eg.) account for the images. Join groups in different social networking websites and give reference to your website as well as blog.

REMEMBER: When you are trying to weave a web for your product and servcies, use the blog as strong strings to create the web. Then you can trap —– divert —- create traffic.

Directory submission Checklist

Directory Submission is an effective method and way to create traffic. I do not want to comment of the relevance and effectiveness of directory submission in this blog.

When you go out to submit your website into the respective directories, please check the following things about the same.

1) Confirm whether the directory is alive (regularly updated)

2) What is the page rank of the directory? Start with very high page rank directory and then move into the lower ones. If it is too low then do not waste your time in submission into the directories.

3) Check the Alexa rank of the website, if it is lagging behind by miles then forget the website. Of it could not increase the traffic and page rank of its own website what will it give to you.

4) Check for the reviews if any regarding the website, check and then submit.

5) Do manual submissions, chose the category carefully. A single mistake will lead to the rejection of your website in that directory listing website.

REMEMBER : Save your time and energy by not submitting in website that is not worthy, use the same for other SEO techniques they will give you better traffic.

Why Sharing is gaining?

What exactly is sharing? What relevance does it have in the web world?

When you share something with someone, who is primarily benefited by this act. Off course the other person isnt?

But why the rule goes upside down in the web world? Dont you think that sharing is gaining and winning in web world?
